1. PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS
These are the standard SKUs. Custom runs take about 1 weeks longer.
| Item | Standard Spec |
| Product type | Self-adhering RV roof repair and seam-sealing tape for maintenance, leak control, and weatherproof patch work. |
| Sealant layer | Flexible butyl sealant compound designed to wet out onto clean, compatible roof surfaces. |
| Top backing | White UV-resistant TPU polymer backing for exposed roof use. |
| Reference thickness | Common supplier options are about 0.8mm and 1.20 mm. |
| Standard widths | 50 mm, 100 mm; custom width can be available but MOQ jumps to 3K rolls. |
| Standard lengths | 5 m, 10 m, and 15m are common market formats; custom rewinds may be available by quantity. |
| Colour | White is the normal exposed-roof choice; black, grey, or custom backing colours may be available for selected orders. |
| Typical repairs | Roof seams, small tears, vent and skylight edges, air-conditioner mounting areas, trim joints, gutters, and panel overlaps. |
| Substrate reference | Common applications include EPDM, TPO, metal, fiberglass, PVC, wood, and selected coated surfaces after compatibility testing. |
| Temperature reference | One public supplier range is about -20°C to 80°C. Installation and service limits must be confirmed for the exact SKU. |
| Surface preparation | Remove loose sealant, dirt, chalk, oil, wax, moisture, and silicone residue; apply only to a sound, dry surface. |
| Installation method | Cut to length, peel back the liner gradually, press without stretching, and roll firmly from the centre toward the edges. |
| Weather exposure | UV- and weather-resistant options are intended for exposed RV roof use; durability depends on substrate, climate, and preparation. |
| Packaging | Individual shrink-wrapped rolls with labels, then carton packing; private-label artwork and carton counts are confirmed by roll size. |
| MOQ and lead time | Indicative planning starts around 100 standard rolls and 7-12 days after confirmation; custom sizes and labels may require more. |
| Payment | 30% T/T deposit, 70% before shipment. L/C accepted for orders >$15K. |
2. WHY BUILDERS REORDER FROM US
(Direct-use reasons for RV builders, repair shops, dealers, fleet operators, and accessory distributors)
🔨 “The wider strip gives the repair some breathing room”
A narrow bead only follows the line you can see. A wider tape overlaps sound roof material on both sides, which is useful around roof seams and penetrations.
🔨 “The liner peels back without handling the whole adhesive face”
Installers can expose the sealant gradually, align the roll, and press as they work. That makes a long seam easier to control on a roof.
🔨 “White looks less improvised on an RV roof”
A matching light-coloured backing produces a neater maintenance finish than a dark utility tape, especially around vents, skylights, and roof edges.
🔨 “We can stock more than one width”
Dealers often need a narrow roll for trim and a wider roll for roof patches. Keeping more options under one supply programme simplifies reorders.
🔨 “The limitations are clear before the installer climbs up”
The tape needs a clean, dry, sound surface. It is not meant to cover rotten decking, an active structural split, or loose old sealant and pretend the underlying problem is gone.
🔨 “Judy confirms the roll and carton details”
Width, thickness, length, liner, private label, carton count, sample courier, and Ningbo loading plans can be checked together before production starts.
3. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q1: Is RV repair tape the same as butyl putty tape?
A: Not quite. Putty tape is usually a narrow, thick sealant strip installed under flanges. RV roof repair tape has an exposed weather-resistant backing and is used over seams, edges, and small damaged areas.
Q2: Which width should we buy?
A: 5cm works for narrow trim and seams. 10cm is the common all-round size. 15cm gives more overlap around wider seams, tears, or roof-mounted equipment.
Q3: Can we apply it over old silicone sealant?
A: That is risky. Silicone residue and loose sealant can prevent a reliable bond. Remove failed material, clean the area with a product approved for the roof, let it dry, and test adhesion before covering the repair.
Q4: Can the roof be damp when we install it?
A: No. Trapped moisture and a wet surface can weaken the bond. Wait for dry conditions, clean the repair area, and use firm roller pressure across the full tape width.
Q5: Is this a permanent structural repair?
A: It is a sealing and maintenance product, not a replacement for damaged roof decking, cracked hardware, or a failed structural joint. Repair the underlying defect first when the roof is soft, loose, or badly torn.
Q6: What roll sizes and temperature range are typical?
A: Common formats include 5cm, 10cm widths with 15m rolls. One public supplier range is about -20°C to 80°C, but the exact application and service limits belong to the selected SKU.
Q7: Can we order samples and private-label cartons?
A: Yes. Send the roof substrate, target width, thickness, roll length, quantity, label idea, and destination. Judy can check samples, courier cost, MOQ, carton packing, and the production slot.
