Building & Decoration Tape
- Asphalt Waterproof Tape Manufacturer
1. PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS
These are the standard SKUs. Custom runs take about 1 weeks longer.
| Item | Standard Spec |
| Product type | Self-adhesive asphalt waterproof flashing tape for exterior sealing, patching, and weatherproof repair work. |
| Waterproofing layer | Rubber-modified asphalt compound formulated to remain tacky and conform to sound, properly prepared surfaces. |
| Release liner | Peel-away siliconized film protects the adhesive surface until installation and supports controlled roll application. |
| Reference thickness | Standard: 1.2mm. Customized thickness on request but MOQ jumps to 3K rolls. |
| Standard widths | 50mm, 75mm, 100mm are practical sizes; custom width can be available. |
| Standard lengths | 2.5m, 5m, and 10m rolls are common; custom rewinding and carton quantities depend on width, thickness, and order volume. |
| Typical applications | Roof and wall flashing, gutters, metal-sheet laps, parapets, pipe penetrations, skylight edges, cracks, joints, and local leak repairs. |
| Substrate reference | Common substrates include metal, concrete, masonry, bituminous felt, wood, rigid plastic, and selected roof membranes after testing. |
| Application temperature | One established product publishes 5°C to 40°C. Cold, dusty, damp, or porous surfaces may require warming or primer. |
| Service temperature | A public bitumen flashing-tape range is about -10°C to 80°C; confirm the exact limit on the selected factory TDS. |
| Surface preparation | Remove dust, rust, oil, standing water, loose coating, and failed sealant. Dry porous surfaces and prime them when the TDS requires it. |
| Installation method | Cut to size, peel the liner gradually, press without stretching, overlap adjoining pieces by at least 25mm, and roll all edges firmly. |
| Packaging and supply | Individually wrapped and labelled rolls in export cartons; private label, roll size, MOQ, and 7-12 day planning are order-dependent. |
| Payment | 30% T/T deposit, 70% before shipment. L/C accepted for orders >$15K. |
2. WHY BUILDERS REORDER FROM US
(Direct-use reasons for roofing contractors, repair teams, builders, distributors, and maintenance buyers)
🔨 “The roll bridges the whole joint instead of chasing one pinhole”
A wider strip covers the suspected leak path and overlaps sound material, which is more practical than placing several narrow beads across a difficult flashing detail.
🔨 “The backing stays tidy on exposed repairs”
Aluminium facing gives roof edges, gutters, and service penetrations a consistent finish while protecting the asphalt layer from direct handling and weather.
🔨 “We can choose a width that matches the job”
Narrow tape limits waste on joints and pipes. Wider tape gives better cover over cracks, parapets, sheet laps, and roof-to-wall connections.
🔨 “The installation limits are written down”
Buyers receive clear guidance on cleaning, primer, temperature, overlap, and roller pressure instead of a vague promise that the tape sticks to everything.
🔨 “Repeat cartons arrive with the same roll format”
Once the width, length, facing, label, and carton count are approved, repeat orders can follow the same supply specification for warehouse control.
🔨 “Judy confirms the production details in one thread”
Samples, TDS points, roll dimensions, private label, packing, quantity, lead time, and Ningbo loading plans can be checked before the order is released.
3. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q1: Is asphalt waterproof tape the same as ordinary duct tape?
A: No. It uses a much thicker asphalt or bitumen waterproofing layer with a protective facing. Duct tape is not designed to form the same type of exterior flashing seal.
Q2: Where is this tape normally used?
A: Typical jobs include roof and wall flashing, gutters, metal-sheet overlaps, parapets, pipe penetrations, skylight edges, cracks, and small local leak repairs.
Q3: Will it stick to concrete or brick?
A: It can bond to suitable masonry, but porous or dusty surfaces often need primer, the surface must be sound and dry.
Q4: Can we install it on a wet roof?
A: No. Standing water and trapped moisture make reliable adhesion unlikely. Dry the area, remove loose material and contamination, then test the bond before completing a long run.
Q5: How much overlap should we allow?
A: A public installation guide calls for at least 25mm between adjoining pieces. Corners and complex details may need more, so confirm the project drawing and product instructions.
Q6: Do we need a roller?
A: Yes, especially on long seams and textured surfaces. Rolling from the centre toward the edges helps push out air and creates the close surface contact the adhesive needs.
Q7: Can we order custom sizes and private labels?
A: Yes. Send the target substrate, width, length, thickness, facing, colour, quantity, label artwork, and destination. Judy can confirm samples, MOQ, packing, and the production slot.
