Q: What’s the real difference between 40mic, 45mic, and 50mic?
A: 45mic works fine for lightweight boxes under 10kg, standard e-commerce stuff. 50mic is the sweet spot for most applications – good strength without overpaying. 52mic or 55mic for heavy cartons, rough handling, or long-distance shipping where you can’t afford failures. If you’re not sure, start with 50mic – covers 80% of use cases.
Q: Clear or brown – does it matter besides looks?
A: Functionally identical. Brown/tan hides what’s inside better and some people think it looks more “professional” for commercial shipping. Clear lets you see the box label underneath and shows you applied it correctly. We sell about 60% clear, 40% brown. Pick whatever matches your operation or brand image.
Q: Can this tape handle cold storage or freezer shipping?
A: Water-based acrylic loses tack in deep freeze. If you’re shipping frozen goods or storing in cold rooms below -15°C, ask about our hot melt grade instead – different adhesive chemistry that stays sticky in extreme cold.
Q: Will it stick to dusty or recycled cardboard?
A: Better than hot melt, not as good as clean new boxes. Water-based acrylic has some mechanical grip so it handles light dust and recycled fiber surfaces reasonably well. If boxes are really dirty or oily, adhesion drops – but that’s true for any tape. Quick tip: wipe the sealing area if boxes sat in a dusty warehouse.
Q: What’s your real MOQ for first-time buyers?
A: Official MOQ is 3,000 rolls. Reality: we’ve done 1,500-2,000 for new customers who want to test quality first, especially if it’s a standard size we stock anyway. Custom sizes or printing: 5K minimum.
Q: Can you print our logo on the tape?
A: Yes, from 5K rolls minimum. 1-3 colors, your artwork needs to be vector format (AI/PDF). Setup fee around $120 depending on colors. Lead time adds 1 weeks.
Q: How do I know what length to order – 66m, 100m, or 990m jumbo?
A: Hand packing: 66m or 100m. The 990m jumbos are for automatic tape machines only – too big and heavy for manual use. Between 66m and 100m: if you change roll size mid-shift, go with 100m for fewer changeovers. If you like lighter rolls or have multiple packing stations, 66m splits inventory better.
